Thanks for visiting! Currently revamping my site to include a new story… yes, a blog.
Who blogs anymore? Fair point. But one person asked for it and said they would read it. And one person is enough. So here we are.
In January 2025, on a trip to visit a college friend in New York she remarked, “you should move in.” She was living in a 3-bedroom condo in Brooklyn and had just gone through a sizable break up. Was she feeling lonely? Or did she think I would be happy there? The answer was resoundingly, “no”. Here’s why:
- I don’t want a roommate or to be someone else’s.
- I’m almost 50 and please see #1.
- I can’t just pick up and leave.
- I have everything I need in Chicago.
- I can’t live in this tiny space, especially one that I share.
- Where would my STUFF go?
- Why would I want to move here and pay 2-3 times what I pay now for a fraction of the space?
- The garbage.
- I would have to leave my people.
- I’m comfortable.
Seven months later, I started planning my move and in January 2026, my Chicago condo will go on the market. What happened? More to come…
